The English National Curriculum outlines the key skills and objectives for each year group in Mathematics. By the end of each key stage, pupils are expected to know, apply and understand the matters, skills and processes specified in the relevant Mathematical programme of study. At Ambrosoli we use the White Rose Maths scheme, which is created to help every child and young person understand, enjoy and succeed in maths.
This scheme helps our students to develop knowledge as well as understanding. Each child will be taught each maths concept through understanding, mastering learning one step at a time. Each term comprises of individual blocks of learning about a particular maths topic. We use a variety of teaching techniques, the majority being practical hands-on activities. Children are challenged through problem-solving tasks, games and active learning in lessons.
